Meryl Streep
DNC 2016 Convention
PHILADELPHIA — Academy award-winning actress and New Jersey native Meryl Streep said Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention it "takes grit and it takes grace" for women to lead the charge in uncharted territory.
Streep, closing out the second night of the convention, spoke hours after its delegates made history by nominating Hillary Clinton as its presidential nominee.
"We've got some fight left in us, don't we?" Streep asked an adorning crowd in Philadelphia, stressing the significance of Clinton becoming the first woman presidential nominee of a major political party.
Cheers,
